They’re married

They’re married

- Drama over Virushka, before they confirmed tying the knot, is latest in celeb charade on weddings

First it was December 9, then we heard December 11 would be the D-Day for Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. Or it could be any day between December 12 and 18 and taking an average, December 15 was also a possibility.

Another cat-and-mouse drama played out over a wedding, which, till Monday evening India time, may or may not have taken place. Now we know it did, on Monday afternoon, somewhere in Tuscany, the picturesque wine growing region of central Italy.

The venue, as some reports had speculated, for the fat, if not big, Indian wedding was Borgo Finocchieto, a hotel complex comprising five luxury villas, close to the Brunello wine growing district, around an hour’s drive from Florence, where the cricketer and his lady love travelled with their families — and a pandit — last week.

Whispers in Mumbai’s filmi circles are that the Kohli and Sharma households have booked all five villas in the borgo, or village, which can accommodate 44 guests. Guesstimates are that hiring the entire set of five villas for a week costs up to 110,000 euros (around Rs 84 lakh).
